 The BMW Skytop Concept Car is a modern homage to classic BMW models like the BMW Z8 and BMW 503. These cars are known for their elegant design and outstanding performance, a tradition that the Skytop proudly continues. Adrian van Hooydonk, head of BMW Group Design, describes the Skytop as ‘a truly unique and exotic design’ that embodies the Concorso d’Eleganza legacy of combining stunning looks with fine-tuned driving dynamics.

Kia is gearing up to launch its latest electric vehicle, the 2025 Kia EV3. This subcompact crossover, which made its global debut on May 23rd, was first introduced as a concept in late 2023. It retains its futuristic look and high-tech interior as it moves into production.

Kia has made significant strides in electric vehicles with models like the EV6 and the three-row EV9. The 2025 Kia EV3, a unique addition to this lineup, builds on this success. It packages what worked well in its predecessors into a smaller, more affordable vehicle. With its bold, grille-less front end, vertical headlights, LED daytime running lights, unique black accents on the wheel arches, and distinctive floating roof design, the EV3 stands out in the crowd.

The car’s design is influenced by the Mercedes-AMG One hypercar, featuring a low silhouette, aggressive aerodynamics, and extensive use of carbon fiber. The front fascia is characterized by a wide lower air intake and a pronounced ‘shark nose.’ Front wheels with open carbon fiber cladding for airflow optimization and fully enclosed rear wheels enhance aerodynamics. The gradient paintwork transitions from Le Mans red to graphite gray, referencing the 1924 Targa Florio race, where a similarly painted Mercedes car emerged victorious.

The striking design of the Nilu27 hypercar reflects Sasha Selipanov’s distinctive aesthetic sensibilities. The exterior shown in the teaser video features narrow gullwing doors, partially exposed suspension components, a two-part rear diffuser, a centrally mounted triple exhaust, a small rear wing that creates a unique curvature along the mid-section, minimalist rear bodywork, and simple LED tail lights suspended in the rear grilles. We’ll know more closer to the official debut.

While details about the interior are scarce at the time of writing, expect it to focus heavily on the driver’s experience. Sasha Selipanov’s emphasis on emotional engagement likely means a luxurious yet functional cockpit.

The BMW Art Car project had its start in 1975, and was initiated by French racing driver and art enthusiast Hervé Poulain. Over the decades, it has featured contributions from art luminaries like Alexander Calder, Frank Stella, Roy Lichtenstein, and Andy Warhol, with each artist bringing their unique perspective and using BMW’s car as a canvas.

Julie Mehretu, known for her abstract works, is the latest artist on the list. Her design for the BMW M Hybrid V8 draws inspiration from her painting ‘Everywhen’ (2021–2023), currently on display at the Palazzo Grassi in Venice. Julie Mehretu’s BMW Art Car integrates layers of digitally altered photographs, dot grids, neon veils, and her signature black markings, all achieved through the use of comprehensive 3D mapping techniques. The end result is a BMW M Hybrid V8 covered in a dynamic, vivid pattern bearing Mehretu’s unique aesthetic.

Inspired by Senna’s helmet, the ‘McLaren SENNA’ livery features a yellow, green, and blue colorway. This design extends to the McLaren Senna Road car. Dubbed the ‘Senna Sempre,’ the racing car was hand-painted by McLaren Special Operations and features a detailed dot matrix portrait of Senna and intricate design elements mirroring the F1 livery. Both McLaren race drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, will wear special overalls to mark the occasion, while fans can purchase Senna-themed merchandise from the McLaren Store.
