A Kind Of Guise Unveils ‘The Patchwork Project’ | A Limited Edition Celebration of Upcycling Heritage

In a nod to its upcycling roots, A Kind of Guise is set to launch ‘The Patchwork Project,’ a limited edition collection of 15 one-of-a-kind cardigans. Founded in 2009, AKOG initially gained recognition by upcycling leather from old medicine balls into unique bags. Now, with the dawn of a new year, the brand revisits its origins, breathing new life into leftover knit samples. This exclusive release, featuring vibrant unisex cardigans, pays homage to the brand’s evolution and commitment to sustainability.

When developing a knitwear collection, AKOG creates small test squares from the desired yarn before crafting the final garment. Over the years, the brand has meticulously collected these knit samples, envisioning a day when they would be transformed into something extraordinary. The wait is over as AKOG unveils 15 distinct cardigans, each meticulously crafted by combining individual patches.

Each cardigan is a unique representation of AKOG’s journey. The diverse color palettes, knitting methods, and textures from the collected knit patches mirror the brand’s evolution from a design perspective. Just as each year since its founding has brought change and growth, so too does each cardigan encapsulate various stages of AKOG’s transformative journey.
